Resume converter guide
Choose whether to change the content or the page.
A converted file can be easier to edit or look closer to its source. The right choice depends on what you need to do next.
Two output modes
What should the new file keep?
- Editable reconstruction. Rebuilds extractable text, lists, tables, and supported images in reading order. Fonts, spacing, page breaks, and layout can change, so review the preview before using the result.
- Preserve page appearance. Keeps supported PDF or image pages visually. When placed in a document format, those pages become images rather than editable text.
For an unchanged, passive PDF-to-PDF conversion, the original PDF file and its existing text layer are retained. This exception does not add OCR.
How it works
Inspect first. Download last.
- 01
Add a source file. The tool inspects its readable text, pages, images, and available output options in this tab.
- 02
Choose a target format and output mode. Read the conversion receipt to understand what may change or be omitted.
- 03
Wait for the generated file’s preview. Download becomes available only after that preview is ready.
Formats and limits
Supported files depend on the source
The converter works with supported PDF, Word, ODT, RTF, HTML, plain-text, Markdown, PNG, and JPEG files. Available targets and output modes vary by source; the tool checks a pairing before conversion.
A source file can be up to 10 MB and 50 pages. Generated output is limited to 50 MB. Image pages are not converted to searchable text with OCR.
Your file
Conversion happens in your browser
The source file and generated output stay in the current browser tab. They are not uploaded to WinJob or sent to an AI service. Static tool files may be downloaded while the browser prepares the converter.
Common questions
Resume converter FAQs
What is the difference between the two modes?
Editable reconstruction creates a new document from supported content, so its fonts, pagination, and layout may differ. Preserving appearance keeps the page visually, but pages placed inside document outputs are images and cannot be edited as text.
Which file formats can I convert?
Supported source families include PDF, Word, ODT, RTF, HTML, plain text, Markdown, PNG, and JPEG. Not every source can be converted to every target or mode. After inspection, the tool shows which combinations are available and any known changes.
What are the file size and page limits?
Source files can be up to 10 MB and 50 pages. Generated output can be up to 50 MB. These limits apply to each supported source-and-output combination.
Can the converter read a scanned resume?
It does not add OCR. Image-only pages remain images; the tool cannot turn their contents into editable or searchable text. An unchanged, passive PDF-to-PDF pass-through retains the original file and its existing text layer.
Why do I have to wait for the preview?
The preview is made from the actual generated output. The download stays unavailable until it loads successfully, so you can inspect what the chosen format and mode produced first.
Is the source file sent to WinJob?
No. The source and output are processed in your browser tab, without a resume upload to WinJob or AI processing. Static tool files may be downloaded when the converter is prepared.
